Field Archaeology Specialists
No material earlier than the nineteenth century was recovered during excavation by hand. Due to the potential for contamination at the site no artefacts were retained but were noted on recording pro formae and discarded within the designated 'dirty area'. Ceramic building material and animal bone was noted in post-medieval deposits identified in section but no hand excavation took place and subsequently no material was recovered.
The digital archive will be incorporated into the Geographical Information System database for the Hungate redevelopment project. The report will be made available on the Hungate Development website.
