The fourteen trenches excavated across the development area were numbered to comply with a system already allocated to the trenches by Land Securities Ltd. In addition each trench was allocated an accession code under the Yorkshire Museums accession code system. The trenches are described in a series of eight groups as set out and described above. In each trench the chronology of activities is split up into phases for ease of interpretation. These phases are trench specific and in no way should be used to correlate with the similar numerical phases in other trenches. In additioon to the links to each group, each trench has been assigned a link. If required the information can be accessed through the trench link rather than group number.
