This web site is designed to provide details of the archaeological findings from the Hungate Project to both the general public and researchers involved in the archaeological work. As such, the majority of the site should be accessible to anyone interested in the project though occasionally the text may, by necessity, use jargon unfamiliar to the lay reader. In general, however, each report will be available in both summary and technical formats.
The results of the various fieldwork projects will be posted to the web site as and when reports are available. These will be in the form of individual site reports, prepared by the archaeological unit responsible for that project. An overview of the discoveries will also be maintained, which will give a more accessible account of the information gathered. This will be presented according to historical period rather than by each specific site location. Because this is intended as a resource for those working on the project, the content of the web site and the various data files associated with it will be continually updated.
